So we have big news!! Jimmy got a great job with the Fresno Chaffee Zoo! We are so proud of him. Its been a long time coming. Ever since his company shut down it has been so hard for him to find anything that was worthwhile. Im thankful that he got to stay home with Shelby and I know that was what was needed at the time but its hard to live off of one income. Thankfully he was able to collect unemployment for most of the time he was out of work but the last couple months were H.A.R.D! Im thankful to have such a great family that was willing to help out with anything we needed. Shelby will be going back to daycare which she is excited about and so are we :) I think it will be so good for her to get to play with other little kids!! Just wanted to post a quick update and thank everyone for all their help and support and to let my husband know how happy we are and how proud we are of him!!!

Shelby's 1st haircut

We took Shelby to this really cute kids haircut place to get her hair trimmed up. Maybe, just maybe, it will also give it a boost to grow! lol anyone who knows Shelby knows she doesnt have much hair in the first place ha! I was sooo worried to cut it because we worked so hard for 2 years to grow what little hair she did have. BUT i love the cut! Its now all even and looks fuller, and she was awesome!! She was very excited to go to the "beautiful shop" her way of saying beauty shop! We took her after her dance class and she sat so good. No tears no fuss just a perfect little hair trim and one beautiful little girl :)

Merry Christmas!

Christmas this year was quiet since we just had Shelby on christmas morning instead of both the girls. We had fun but its hard when a kid is missing for big events or holidays! This year Santa brought dollhouses!! He also brought Shelby a "Schoooooter" thankgoodness!!!!! (see my post about seeing Santa) ha!

I must say i was pretty excited she got a dollhouse! This has been a fun gift for both mom and Shelby :) She will play with this for hours and I love to hear her make up stories and scenerios with her "little people"

This was a fabulous gift from my talented hubby :) I had been complaining/hinting that we needed a coat hanger because i was tired of seeing the kids coats and my coats on the back of the dining room chairs!! Well..... he built me one and I love it!

It was a little hard, ok ,VERY hard for shelby to understand why lex got to open so many presents and hers were already opened. We did have her open some gifts but she still had a hard time. Hopefully next year and the years to come we can work it out where we get her on the actual day lol!

New Years Eve...Hello 2011

This year was our "late year" with Lex and it was not the greatest having her the 2nd half of Christmas break! Thank goodness we were able to work things out with her mom for the years to come and exchange her on Christmas day! This year we didnt get her until the 27th and it was really hard to try to cram Christmas and her Birthday all at once. The poor kid was on present overload! This year we celebrated her birthday on New Years eve. We had it at my parents and I made the cake :) It was a candyland cake I had seen it in a magazine and she loved it! Surprisingly it was a fairly easy cake to make and super fun! Happy Birthday baby!!!

Going to see Santa!

We took the girls to go see Santa this weekend. It was very cute :) We took them to Riverpark where they have a really cute set up to meet him. We went in the late afternoon and didnt have to wait too long...maybe 15 min tops to see him. While we were in line we were asking Shelby what she was going to tell Santa she wanted (lex already knew what she was asking for). Well Shelby has been in love with Rapunzel and the new Tangled movie :) so she kept saying she was going to ask for Rapunzel lol. Well we asked her this a few times and the answer was the same...we said "you mean like a rapunzel doll"? and she said "rapunzel anything"! So when its our turn i take the girls up and put Shelby on Santa's lap and then move away so they can get the pic...after we choose the pic we want them to print Jimmy and I walked up to get the girls....He goes to get Shelby off Santa's lap and he asks her if she told him what she wanted and she said "yes daddy a schoooooter" lol (scooter) so he laughs and takes her off Santa's lap and Shelby says " no I not ready yet Santas gonna get me my schooooter" and points to a big bag of toys they have set up as a prop! Lol we were cracking up, we let her know thats not quite how it works and we did get her off his lap and outside without a meltdown but it was HYSTERICAL!

This kid cracks me up! She really is funny! She is very talkative and definately lets you know whats on her mind! I love seeing her change and grow!! Anyway we got a cute pic with Santa and a funny story :)

Thanksgiving 2010

This year for thanksgiving we were busy! We had two thanksgivings to go to. One at Jimmy's Aunt Shanna & Uncle Jerry's the other at my parents house. The kids were awesome and we got to eat at both places :) Yummy food and great family, doesnt get much better than that! It was nice to see Jimmy's side of the family because we dont get to see them as often. The kids got to play with their cousins and it was all around and good time. Thank you to Shanna and Jerry for inviting us all and having a wonderful yummy dinner!!

Yo Gabba Gabba

So this month we had Alexia all week for Thanksgiving so we took the girls to see the Yo Gabba Gabba "Theres a Party in my city" live tour!! They were at the Savemart Center for 1 day! The kids had a blast. Shelby LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba!! It is one of her favorite shows. When we got there they had the big tv screen set up and i think she thought we were going to watch it like we do at home...on tv. When they actually came out on stage her face was priceless. She was sooo excited. It was a pretty cute show and they did alot of the hit songs and Miss Shelby knew them all!

The kids really enjoyed it. Thanks mom and dad for the tickets!!! Shelby danced the ENTIRE time. she knew all the songs, dances and moves!! They each got a shirt and a light stick and then they had to share a pack of silly bands :) They were happy campers and it was a fun family night!!

Halloween 2010

My parents had a Halloween party this year! It was so fun! They had gambling and sooo much food :) Jimmy and I went as our Farmville farmers and took Shelby as the cutest bunny rabbit ever!! (she was also this adorable bunny at her dance class earlier that day) Here is her and her papa joe as Fred Flinstone!

This year we did something different and took the kids to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo Boo! We had so much fun!! This is a really awesome event and I highly recommend it!! I am so glad we took the kids. Dance Progress!

So Im happy to say Shelby is doing soooo much better at dance class! She is much more willing to participate :) She is the "little mother" in class....making sure all the kids sit in their chairs and she holds their hand and walks them back from the bathroom. She is hysterical!! I dont have many pics because most of the time im laughing! She is so good natured and likes to make sure everyone is taken care of! Its pretty amazing to watch. Ive really liked seeing her progress and go from Stiff as a statue to actually shaking her little self and doing the stuff :) She still wont do the "routine" which in its self is hysterical because she will just sit in the chair and watch the kids...funny thing is she knows the routine and does it at home!! Silly girl lol oh well one of these days she'll do it :)

Halloween Activities

Me and Aunt Ninni did a Halloween themed craft with the girls on the weekend days we would go over for "Family Dinner". We had a blast and the kids did so well. We made "stained glass" pumpkins and Ghosts!! We are making a footprint ghost banner for my parents Halloween party but I dont have pics of that yet!

The next weekend we did paper plate ghosts!! We actually left the pumpkins at my parents house for decorations and then we took the ghosts home for our decorations and they were perfect!! Ill have to get a pic of our house decorated this weekend when we put our pumpkins out :)

I thought the crafts came out super cute and the girls had so much fun doing them!! Its nice to do this stuff with the kids because Shelby isnt in school yet to do crafts and we hardley ever get see what Lex does at school since she goes to school in coalinga :( So this was super fun!! Me and Nikki are planning on doing it thru the holidays too! So we will start Thanksgiving crafts in November!!!

Dance!

So there is a dance studio not far from our house and we thought it may be good to have Shelby try it out. We picked a Gym/Jazz class for her to try for free! We took her this Saturday and although she was very shy...she said she had lots of fun and want to go back!! Now, those that know Shelby know that she is NOT shy. She is very talkative and outgoing and hardly sits still :) We got to the studio a few minutes before her class started and there was another class finishing up..well they had the kids sitting in little white chairs and the teacher would call them up one at a time to work on things with them....I laughed and told my mom, sister, and Jimmy that I didnt think Shelby would sit in the chair (especially since she had been ready to go to "school" since the night before) but boy was i WRONG! She watched the kids doing forward rolls and hopping and dancing and was sooo excited! So finally it was time for her...my mom and I walked her to the room and met her teacher who was very friendly and took her in....there was only one other little girl and one little boy who were in the class! They started....Shelby froze lol. She wouldnt budge...she didnt move a muscle, no wiggle, not hop no nothing!! I thought she was going to faint because her knees and arms were locked!!! Anyway the class progressed and she did start to get into it and did participate but it was sure funny to watch!! I posted some videos of the class so take a peek! After class she was all smiles saying how much fun she had and wants to go back next week! Silly girl!

Santa Cruz

Monday we headed to Santa Cruz with my parents for a quick little getaway! It was so nice since we havent been able to do much since I got hurt. Basically all our summer plans got tossed out the window so this was so nice and so much fun! The weather was perfect and the kids were sooo good :)

Shelby spotted the "Willy" ride while we were standing in line buying ride bracelets and wanted to ride him first! This was her first ride without me or jimmy....we werent sure how she would do. It started and by the second round she was screaming "I no like this" we were cheering for her and trying to stop laughing but it was pretty funny! She wasnt crying she just kept yelling...shes such a trooper and stayed on til it was over. When she got off we all gave her high fives and cheered at what a big girl she was and that seemed to settle her right down. I thought for sure she would be done with rides tho..... I was wrong! She loved the boat ride, the cars, and this pepsi train they had...she even rode them without sister! (sister went and rode the scary haunted house ride with papa joe) She definately got her money's worth riding these over and over!

This was another funny story! So shelby loves rding horses and talked about riding them the whole trip...well we headed to the carousel and they have a big clown on the wall and a ring dispenser that kids can pull rings and toss them in the clown mouth while riding the carousel...Shelby caught a glimpse of the clown and that was all she wrote. She wouldnt even sit on the horse so her and my mom had to settle for a bench in which she said she didnt like it the w.h.o.l.e. time (my poor mom) she was terrified of the clown. I have no idea where this fear came from as she has never even seen a clown before then...but they pretty much terrified her anytime she saw one the whole day.

We had so much fun...even tho I had to sit in the wheelchair all day and Jimmy had to push me around...we definately cant wait to go back when im all healed up. Thanks mom and dad for a fantastic day!

ps..the potty traing is almost over! Shelby has been doing so awesome and all day in santa cruz never had one accident and peed on the big toilets every time!! She is AWESOME!

So today i had my post op appt and all went well. They said I was healing up and took off the splint and put on a cast! It was painful while they were doing the cast only due to the position that they put my foot in while they casted it. My foot has basically been straight since it was injured on 6-20-10 and today they bent it....OUCH was about all I could say. They physicians assistant that did the casting let me take pics of my incisions and of my xrays which was pretty cool. I didnt post the pics of my incisions becuase they were yucky looking but here is my xray.

surgery is over

Well i had my surgery on friday and all went well. Thank you to all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at fresno community hospital. I was VERY nervous but everyone was sooo nice and made me feel so much better. They explained everything and were so comforting. They really were amazing!! My wonderful husband and my dad were with me right up until i was wheeled back for surgery so that was nice. They got to keep me company :) My mom and sister were there when I came out of surgery and that was a big surprise. I was happy to see everyone. My grandparents watched the girls so it was nice to not have to worry about them :). I stayed for about 2 hours after my surgery was completed and then was able to come home. It took me awhile to come out of the anesthisia and i was surprised that i had so much pain. It was a very weird experiance. It is very hard to explain and not what i had expected at all. They were giving me morphine which did help take the pain away however it didnt last at all. Finally when my vitals were stable enough I was taken to the recovery room where all my family was able to stay. we hung out there for awhile and then they discharged me. I felt good all that afternoon and evening. The next day however was dreadful. I have been in sooo much pain since the surgery. I have to keep my foot up at all times which is very hard to do. My poor husband has been so good and him and the kids are really trying to do their best to make me happy, Im very thankful for them :) Its just hard to not be able to do ANYTHING for myself, let alone my family. Its a bummer but hopefully it will get better everyday. Thanks for all the prayers, messages, calls, texts and well wishes.

surgery

Well i went in to the surgeon today and they scheduled me for surgery.....TOMORROW!! Yikes! So im a little freaked out, ok A LOT freaked out. We went and did all my pre op stuff after my surgeon appt and then went to my parents for dinner and to hang out for a bit. The kids are going to stay the night with my parents because we have to be at the hospital at 530am!! My surgery is set for 830am. Please say some prayers for me and for my family...im not used to being away from the kids especially shelby and this whole incident has been hard on us. Although they have been having fun at grandma and papa's i miss them like crazy! Poor Jimmy has had to do way more than he should and has been such a trooper. I love them! My parents and sister have been amazing with helping us with the kids when we have appointments and letting us come over for dinner :) My grandparents have helped us as well with meals and watching the kids so THANK YOU to my awesome family I feel very blessed, and love you all so very much!

broken ankle

Some pics of my broken foot....nothing too graphic just lots of swelling and bruising! My foot is sooo FAT and swollen.

So I broke my ankle! Yes this past weekend we went camping with the whole family and took all the toys (Quads, dirt bikes) up for some riding. Things were great we were having an awesome time! We rode all day saturday and then swam at the camp site. Sunday we went back up to Miami Trails do to some more riding and thats where things took a turn for the worst! My sister and I were hanging out reading magazines and laying in the sun while the guys were out riding. Then when they got back we decided to take the quads for a "girl" run. We had fun and when we got back to camp Jimmy and I decided to go for a little ride while we were waiting for my mom, gram and the kids to come up for lunch. Well all was going good, we were on a trail when we we were climbing a small hill almost at the end of the trail I guess I lost it. I remember loosing control and holding the quad up with my left leg for a few seconds before I came crashing backwards down the hill. I remeber falling..the quad falling on me..whacking my head and thinking "thankgoodness for helmets"..rolling...my ankle snapping...and hurting. Poor Jimmy was running down the hill after me as he saw me fall! He was so great. He handled the situation much more calmly than I did. I remember crying and being able to talk and tell him that only my ankle was broke, I wasnt hurt anywhere else and that I had heard it snap. He told me he had to get me back on the quad and out of there and that we were going to have to go to the hospital. My ankle was swollen. I dont know how he got me on the quad or back to camp but he did. I guess I was crying because all i remember is sitting in the back of my moms car with my mom and Jimmy trying to find an ER to get me to. We finally made it to the Oakhurst ER and they were awesome. So very nice, got me in got me a tetnus shot and some pain meds. Their Xray machine was down so we thought we werent going to be able to get any xrays but lo and behold they had techs there at that time and they got it WORKING!! I had xrays done where they determined it was broken in 2 places (the bones on either side of my ankle were broken so there was no support. They gave me a CD of my xrays and splinted me up! We left there went back to camp where we ate yummy spaghetti and then my dad drove me home and Jimmy took shelby....we let lex spend the last night at camp with everyone. After we got to my parents house I got to take a shower which felt so good because I was filthy!! (its hard to take a shower with one leg that cant get wet and being in pain but Jimmy and I have a pretty good system down now :) So then Monday once everyone got back from camping my parents watched shelby and Lex while Jimmy and I headed to fresno community ER so we could get set up with a surgeon per Oakhurst instruction. Well 9 hours later we left very upset and with only a phone number to call and set up our own appt. Its been a little bit of a rat race and Ive had doc appts every day this past week but finally tues we are seeing the surgeon!! Then we should get my surgery date. Im very scared to have this surgery so please say a prayer about that! Ive never had any type of surgery (except to get my wisdom teeth out) But this is MUCH bigger. So thats where we are with everything! Hopefully ill be up and running/walking soon. Its really sucky to be down and out over the summer :(

Zoo 2010

So for Shelby's birthday this year we had some awesome friends get us a family zoo pass!! This was super cool and something that Jimmy and I had talked about getting but hadn'd done. This worked out perfect!! We tried it out and we a blast and cant wait to use it all summer long! A big Thank you! To the Mathews for this amazing gift :)

the orangutans...we could have stayed there all day, the kids loved watching them and I must say they were pretty funny! It was a nice cool day so they were much more active than ive seen in awhile so it was super neat!

Ok, so for awhile Shelby's favorite animal has been the giraffe. She had seen the commercial for Busch Gardens where the kids feed the giraffe and LOVED it. She would get so excited whenever she saw it and always said after it was over... "Shelby feed giraffe". She had been waiting all week for Alexia to get here so we could go see the giraffes...and let me just say, the giraffes did not disappoint! She was so excited to see them. Ill post some videos of the kids feeding them because its super cute! Shelby did very well and fed the giraffe and was so excited because he licked her!!
For hours and even days after she still said " the giraffe licked me" but it comes out lick-ed me too cute :)

next was the petting zoo. I wasnt sure how well Shelby would do here because last year when we went to San Diego she wanted nothing to do with the petting zoo. That was too close for her and I wasnt able to even put her down without her starting to cry! Well, what a difference a year makes!! She had a blast this time! They have some brushes when you walk in that you can get and go brush the animals...shelby thought that was great!! Her and lex brushed every animal in there i think! We had to practically pull them out!

in all the years ive lived here and gone to the zoo ive never watched the bird show...this time we did and it was so fun! Poor Shelby tried to stay awake but crashed about halfway through...but the rest of us had a fun time! These pics were taken after the show as we were walking out

it was a great fun day and we cant wait to go back! Im betting we will be spending lots of time at the zoo this summer! Next day for sure is the Ice cream social! We went last year and it was a blast! Looking forward to it again this year :)

Shelby's 2nd Birthday

Shelby turns 2 today!!! Happy birthday baby girl we love you! We did her party on Sunday at a park right down the street from our house. It turned out really nice and we all had a blast! The theme was minnie mouse :) here is my little Minnie.

You pretty much can say anything :) You repeat a lot which is funny because you say some pretty big words :) You have just started to say Alexia's name which we all find absolutely adorable, You have always called her sister but now you say O-lex-ia lol is pretty darn cute!!

your new funny thing that you do is the pouting. It probably wont be cute for long but right now it is pretty funny. If we tell you no (doesnt matter if its an "in trouble" no or just a reg no) you will put your head down and the lip comes out :) its super cute. You will often put yourself in the corner on a time out! If we let you stay over there for a few seconds you will usually come over to us with your hands over your eyes and tell us "shelby cry in corner" :) You are a fun loving little girl that amazes us everyday! I took Shelby to a birthday Party a few weekends ago and she had SO MUCH FUN! Colie turned 2 and she is excatly 7 days older than Shelby :) They had a bounce house and though Shelby wasnt too sure when we got there....she sure didnt want to get out when it was time to go lol! She was doing very well in the bounce part, holding her own with the older kids, but then she found the other side, with the slide!! She was so funny because she would go to the steps go up a few come back down go jump then she'd come to the stairs go up a few more and then back down until she finally got all the way to the top! I was a little nervous that she would freak out and then id have to somehow manage how to get in the bounce house and up to the top to rescue her but she didnt!!! She is amazing! That little girl climbed to the top and went down all on her own! Now the pics i took, her face looks like shes terrified, but shes not lol she would come down and clap and say "yay mommy I did it" too cute!!

We left the party and headed up to Pine flat for a picnic. My grandparents had camped up there all weekend so we headed up with my family to hang out for a bit and let the guys ride their dirt bikes around. It was such a nice day!

Disneyland

We had such a nice time in Disneyland for my birthday! It really is the "Happiest Place on Earth"! The kids did so good. Shelby did way better than I had expected on both rides and with meeting the characters :) We got to see Jimmys mom and sister so we had a nice visit with them as well :) Thank you Deana and Belinda for everything!!

The characters.....I wasnt sure how Shelby would react...sometimes shes fine and other times shes not lol. She saw pooh through the window of the gift shop we were in and got so excited! She kept saying "shelby see pooh!" so we decided to go stand in line and see how it went.....she was so excited the whole time. Finally it was our turn and she walked right up there with sister and said Hi...THEN pooh bear bent down to see shelby and she didnt like that at all!!! She ran for me and became very shy lol she was ok as long as i held her but she preferred the characters at a distance lol but she did give them high 5's and said bye and blew kisses so it was fun for her :)

shelbs didnt care too much for minnie either but it was late and she was exhausted! She did talk alot about the characters though so she did enjoy it!

We watched the fireworks show which was awesome, one of the better shows ive seen! Then we headed out with sore bodies and tired kiddos but we had such a fun time and I love seeing the kids have so much fun. Its really a different experience when you get to see Disneyland through your kids eyes! AMAZING!!!

I turned 30!

So my birthday this year was a big one! I wasnt looking forward to turning 30 at all but my wonderful husband and family made it less scary and we had lots of fun! I had a very nice bbq the weekend before my actual birthday and then we went to disneyland the weekend of my birthday! It was a busy couple weekends but sooo much fun! Thanks to my great family for making turning 30 not-so-bad :)

Big girl!!

Shelby has had a very "big girl week" She is turning 2 next month so we decided it was time to say goodbye to her bink! She used it mostly in the car or when going to bed but lately it had become more of a chew toy than anything...well she finally chewed a hole in it so we threw it out. Now, we have more than one bink but she has the habbit of just throwing them when she is done with them so we loose them all the time :) So this was our "last" bink. We had shelby take it to the trash and throw it away. She said "bye bye binky" and was fine. That is until bedtime lol. At bedtime she asked for it and we explained that she threw it away because it was broken...she immediately started to cry. It was a very hurt cry. She was devestated!! My heart broke for her and we just tried talking to her and tried giving her some of her favorite stuffed animals and tried to soothe her. Nothing was working and after 45 min I was ready to head to the store in search of a bink, but after a few more min she finally fell asleep WITHOUT the bink. Bless her heart she was exhausted. It was that type of crying that even after they are done they still have those little gasps as they calm down. Ugh! heartbreaking. The good thing though is only an hour of crying and she is totally off the bink! She asked for it a few times the next day but never had another meltdown and hasnt really asked for it! She will tell you as she told my dad that the binky she threw in the trash! So hey at least she understands!!! So yay shelby!! You are such a big girl!!

Since she did so great with the ditching the bink we thought we would try to get her to sleep in her own bed. Yes she still slept with us!! She had a beautiful crib but slept in it maybe 2 times since she was born lol and those were probably naps! I loved having her in the bed BUT now that shes getting bigger she moves alot and feet in your back at 2am is not so much fun! So we thought it was time.....and guess what? She did it!! Amazing!

This is the next morning...such a big girl!!

We are so proud of miss Shelby! She has done so great! We love you baby! or should I say Big girl :)

Coloring Easter Eggs

So this year Easter was pretty low key. We didnt have Alexia (bummer!) and my parents and sister were in Hawaii (Lucky!) so me Jimmy and Shelby colored eggs on Friday night and then sunday we went to my grandparents house for dinner. We had a nice time and got to relax more than past Easters :).

She had picked out a kung fu panda deco kit and they had a template that you could make Poe. Well she is trying so hard to hold him :)

Trip to the snow 1-31-10

This past sunday we took the kids to the snow with my parents and Nikki and Jacob. We went up by Shaver lake to the snow parks. We did this last year and the kids had fun! Im thinking we are going to make this an annual trip! Me, well for anyone that knows me, im not really a snow person! Lol i hate to be cold and wet...no fun. On a side note..i think Shelby will be more like me in this aspect, as she kept saying "I no like it" lol who knows that silly girl! But we do have a good time and we get to see the snow once a year which is enough for me! :) I enjoy watching Lex have such a good time and she is becoming quite the daredevil! It was hard to get any pictures of her sledding because she was going so fast!!!

Jimmy went to the bottom of the hill to catch me and Shelby...well the snow was packed and hard so there was no control...Shelby and I flew down the hill so fast Jimmy wasnt able to stop us! There was no way to control the sled so to the other people on the hill it was either move or be plowed down! Shelby and i finally stopped and decided it was too rough. My poor mom fell and lex got plowed by a guy coming down. Jacob and Nikki took out another little girl so it was all around rough! We decided after maybe 10min that we should go find another spot (yes all that happened in roughly 10min!) CRAZY! So we ventured to another snow park that was much better..it had powdery snow and wasnt nearly as busy! We played around and had a good time

Ticket

We are still alive! I was looking at the date of my last post and YIKES its been awhile. I havent posted because lifes been good and there hasnt been anything too exciting for me to talk about. I have a few posts that im working on but this thing sometimes wants to take forever downloading pics so I get frustrated and shut it down. Oh well Ill try it again (and again) and will eventually get them up! For now I'll leave you with this....

Dont talk on you cell phones while driving!! Not just because its "safer", or "a law" but because if you do it is EXPENSIVE! I got a lovely (i'll call it a reminder) Jimmy calls it a TICKET back in October. Now, mind you I wasnt on the freeway or even on a busy road, I was right in front of my work getting ready to pull in the parking lot. I know, I know I was driving so technically I shouldnt have been on the phone I get that, so the officer was real nice and gave me the "reminder" and told me that first offenses arent that bad, its a $20.00 fine and I dont even need traffic school!! Im thinking Great! Lucked out! So a few days later what do I find in the mail? A bill from the city advising me of my ticket and the amount due. Lets just say it was a few hundred dollars more than $20.00. I did a double take! Asked Jimmy to read it and tell me the amount (thinking maybe its time to get new glasses) but no, he confirms the same amount! WHAT?!? So I call the courthouse, wait forever for someone to pick up..tell her "oh you must have a made a mistake, see I was only supposed to get a $20.00 ticket for talking on my cell phone, but got this amount due with a few extra zeros!" She informs me that although the "ticket/reminder" is only $20.00 the city and county can add whatever they want to the amount. Oh really? well thank you Fresno county and city! So all in all I guess I have to pay "a little" more than the previously discussed $20.00 and give all my friends and family the warning!!! Thanks to my wonderful husband who wasnt excatly thrilled about the ticket or the fine...but loves me anyway :)

Christmas Eve and Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful christmas this year. Poor Shelby wasnt feeling the greatest but shes such a trooper and still managed to have fun! Christmas Eve we went to my grandparents house for dinner and presents. We had so much fun and Shelby was very into it this year! here is Shelby playing with her Dora backpack!

Christmas morning, and what did Santa bring?.............BIKES for the whole family!! Yep Daddy got one, mommy got one, Lex got one and even Shelby (she got a trike and a seat on the back of mommys bike!)

After we opened our presents we went over to Grama Vals and Papa Joe's for a yummy breakfast and MORE presents! Then we went home to rest and put all our gifts together then went back to Grama and Papa's for a yummy dinner on our brand new bikes! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and to be so close. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

New Years was lame this year because we were ALL sick!! We all had bronchitis and sinus infections yuck! So we watched many seasons of Grey's Anatomy (thanks mom and Nik for the dvd's) and stayed in! Well goodbye 2009 and Hello 2010! I think it will be a great year!

Alexia's 8th Birthday!!

So I have been behind on posting..but here is Alexia's birthday post! She turned 8 (i cant believe it) on December 22! We had her party on the saturday before at Bounce U. For those that arent familiar with bounce u let me just say it is AMAZING. Its basically and indoor romp house with all sorts of bounce houses and slides and just plain FUN. The kids were so excited and had an awesome time...as did the adults! Happy birthday Lexi girl. We love you sooo much and are so glad you are part of our family. I cant believe how grown up you are becoming and we love watching you grow and change.

Friday night we decorated out tree! Lexi was such a big help this year and was very helpful with Shelby, showing her how to hang the ornaments. Shelby thought it was so much fun! Even though she hung, took off, and rehung the same ornament the whole time :) Oh well, it kept her busy! I love trees that are decorated by kids! The ones where ornaments are all in one area!! They are too cute! So here is ours...

Shelby was just facinated with the tree. We have given her the "no touch" talk and she has done surprisingly well. She walks by it several times and says "wow" or "tree pretty"

Then Saturday we headed over to my mom and dads to take some christmas pictures. My moms house is decorated soooo good for christmas its like a little winter wonderland! Anyway we got some good pics, but we had a hard time getting Shelby to smile! We danced and cooed, and jumped up and down but she just mostly looked at us like we were nuts! lol Thanks though to my sister who took the pics!!

We did a trial run with Santa and Shelby at Walmart one day when he just happened to be there and there was no line lol but it was a no go! Shelby was all pumped and ready but when I went to take her out of the cart she said "nope" lol so we'll see how it goes when Alexia is here.

Jimmy's Family Reunion 2009

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we spent it at my mom and dads house. My mom outdid herself and everything was wonderful. I forgot my camera that day so no pics :( but trust me it was very nice and everything was yummy! Friday i didnt go out and do the black friday deal BUT im not sure how many stores did this but good ol' wally mart had black friday ONLINE> YES! It was awesome. My wonderful husband actually found it and stayed up till 5am to place our order. You could shop all the sale prices and load up your cart but they wouldnt let you check out until the sale started at 5am but hey, beats fighting millions of people and standing in rediculous lines. We were all over the online deal!! Then Friday we headed down to Bakersfield for Jimmy's family reunion. It was at his aunt becky's house and boy was it fun! We took his grandparents and we had an awesome time. I did bring my camera, so here are some pics from that!

We had a great tri tip dinner there and then we headed over to Dewars for some yummy ice cream. If anyone is ever in Bakerfield I highly recommend going to Dewars it is an awesome little ice cream shop and candy shop. Then we headed back to fresno! It was a very long fun filled day! Thank you grandma and grandpa Daly for going with us we had so much fun! :) A big thank you to Becky and Chris for hosting it, it was GREAT! We are looking forward to the next one.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving this year! We will be going to my moms and having dinner there and then heading to Bakersfield on Saturday for a family reunion! I havent really decided if Im going to brave the "Black Friday" deals yet..there really hasnt been anything that I have seen that I have to have lol. I am not a fan of dealing, especially shopping, with large crowds of people. I hate driving in traffic and I just dont know if I can do it this year. I am proud to say Jimmy and I have started our Christmas shopping and are alomst done. As Im writing this I am really leaning towards not going friday...but Never say Never lol i'll see how i feel and take it from there :)

So Halloween was a busy day for us! We had a bday party to go to and jimmy and I were exhusted becuase we had been up with miss shelby who for some reason was running a high temperature on friday. She is much better now but friday night around 11pm she woke up with a fever of 103!! We stayed up to monitor the fever so by the time saturday morning rolled around we were pretty tired! She was feeling much better saturday so we headed to incredible johns for the birthday...after that we came home and got the kids dressed in their halloween costumes. We then headed over to grandma and grandpa daly's house (Jimmys grandparents) and met up with Steven, Janai and their boys....

After we met up with Jimmy's brother steven and his family we headed back to our house to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood...there we met up with Jimmy's other brother and his family, and my mom and we all went trick-or-treating together!! We had 6 kids in all having the best time...shelby tried so hard to keep up with the kids...although she did not like to walk up the door but was ok if i carried her...everytime she got a candy she wanted to eat it, silly girl!

So friday night after we picked up Alexia we ate dinner and then decided to carve our pumpkins...Usually we do them much earlier but then they get all mushy by halloween so I really liked the idea of doing them the night before. Much easier for me than carving so I got to be the picture taker for the evening lol

On Friday I was having a work party at my work so Jimmy and Shelby came to hang out for a bit. Poor shelby we were only able to wear her costume for a few min because it was 80 degrees and her costume was too HOT! here is her and daddy at my work all dressed up... I work at senior apartment complex and the residents always get a kick out of seeing shelby...she wasnt too sure about seeing them because they were mostly all dressed up which had her a little nervous...

Jimmy's Birthday

Jimmys birthday was last week. We had so much fun and crammed lots of activities in to a few days! I had a special surprise for him amd it turned out fabulous and he loved it!! A few days before his birthday we had went to our nephew Ethans birthday! The girls had fun running around and playing with their cousins

Later that night we took Jimmy to dinner for his family birthday dinner at BJ"S yum!! We had a wonderful dinner and a great bday pazookie!! Those things are awesome! Then we headed back to our place for presents and a apple walnut cobbler I made. YUM!

THEN..on Jimmys actual bday (oct 7) i had the big surprise planned. We went to chuckchansi and stayed the night. This was a big deal since shelby has never been away from both of us since she was born!! But we all made it and she was in great hands at my mom and dads house which she loves to go to anyway!! This is a pic of Jimmy on our way....We met some friends and ate and gambled and had so much fun!

the next day we got up drove back down to fresno and picked up shelby and went to the Big fresno fair!! Shelby got to ride her first real pony!! She loved it

then friday we left to go on our camping trip! Here is papa joe and lex trying to pretend to be asleep! It was a long car ride but the kids did awesome. We camped at Big sur and had so much fun!

So Jimmys brother Larry got married on Saturday September 26th. They had a really nice reception that we attended. We are so happy for them and their two children!! Congrats you guys it was very beautiful!!

So August 15th we attended the zoo's annual ice cream social. All the years we have lived in Fresno and we had never done it. We went with my parents, sister and Jacob, my grandparents, amd our good friends Kels and Ant! We had so much fun!!! I wasnt really knowing what to expect but they had a TON of ice cream to taste!!!

i couldnt shovel the ice cream in fast enough for shelby....she LOVED it. she thought it was the best thing ever. 2 of her favorite things...animals and ice cream! She was one happy girl!

So i had been meaning to get shelby's 1yr pics taken but the months just flew by! So she's almost 15months and we just took her pics...better late than never right? Shelby's Swim Graduation

Shelby graduated from swimming lessons last night yay!! We are sooo super proud of her. Even tho there were rough nights and she cried she always pulled through and did what her teacher asked and was on the same learning level as the other kids. She learned so much in this class, more than i ever thought a 14 month old could learn....but she alawys amazes us with how bright she is. We love you Shelby and are very proud of you!!!

ahhh the duck. shelby giving him kisses. this duck got us through many a swim class with a not so happy baby. no matter how upset shelby would be she would always look for this duck and say "quack quack" priceless. without this duck we may not have made it through!!

Sea World

so we left on vacation tuesday night after shelbys swim class because we thought it would be easier to do the long drive while the kids slept...it was great!! Poor jimmy was a trooper to drive the whole way then get up early wednesday morning to head to the park!! we had an awesome time! By far sea world was our favorite park! It was amazing...i had never been before and they had so much to do and so many neat shows and experiences.

this was the neatest!! they had dolphins that you could feed or just watch and they came right up to you!! you could pet them it was such a neat experience

we then headed over to the shark exhibit...it was very crowded and HOT inside...

scary!!!! those teeth were huge we went to see a dolphin show later that day..that was neat and we had fun listening to the music! Dolphins are so smart and it was neat to watch them after we had gotten to pet them earlier

we went to the artic exhibit..how neat that was. i think that was one of my favorites we got to cool off in the exhibit which was nice

the last show we saw was the shamu rocks at night! how awesome...it was so neat and loud the kids just loved it!!! the music was awesome and they had a show screen that we actually got on! it was very cool!this was hands down everyones favorite park and one we will definately go back for. i highly recommend it to everyone...the whole trip was amazing but if you have to pick one...this is it!!!

day 2 we headed to downtown san diego for the comic con. i went for jimmy who got a ticket from his mom and sister for christmas. i didnt really know what to expect when we went because a)im not really into the whole deal so i dont know alot about it and b)i had never been to a convention before. well friends....let me tell you it was crazy! i dont even know if crazy covers it. it was a) PACKED! i dont think ive ever seen so many people in a designated space before and ive been to my share of crowded places..this was beyond crowded. b)there were all sorts of people, from your celebreties, to comic collectors, to the crazies that just like attention!!! all in all we had a good time and it was a new experience!!

San Diego Zoo

So day 3 of our vacation we did the zoo. Boy was this zoo big! im used to fresno's itty bitty zoo but this zoo outdid ours big time. They had lots of different animals and the grounds were beautiful and very well kept. It was huge and required a lot of walking but it was great weather and we had a blast.

We took the tram ride that goes around the zoo first to get familiar with the zoo and they give out information on some of the other trams...this was me and the girls getting ready to board the tram

the tram went around to most of the "lands" of the zoo so we got a good look at the layout of the zoo...it went to the desert, jungle, and then went to some behind the scenes exhibits like the vet onsite for the elephants! Very informative...these were some pics of some of the exhibits we went by

this bird was at the beginning of the kiddie zoo...they had an entire part of the zoo for kids which was really neat..they had lots of animal figures to take pics with and a petting zoo.

now shelby loves animals but we found out she likes them from afar! she was not interested in the petting zoo at all! she didnt want to touch anything! I thought it was so strange since she goes after the dog and cats at my parents house...but she wanted nothing more than to just look at the animals!!

she liked pointing to them but when they came close to her she wanted up off the ground!

after that we headed over to the seal show...well it was called a seal show but they actually had several different types of animals that came out

had to get a pic of the hat! she looked so cute in it but would nit keep it on! she'll wear bows but for some reason no hat!! Oh well we got one pic and she looked adorable!

surprisingly we finished the zoo in 1 day! this was a moving tree we saw as we were leaving the zoo! pretty crazy!!

we had a great time at the zoo but were looking forward to relaxing the next day! we were beat!! that is a lot of walking to do!!!

Swimming and the San Diego beach

So saturday we decided to just relax and swim and go to the beach. We had scheduled 2 days for the zoo but finished up everything on friday so we had a day to just rleax!! We drove to imperial beach and had so much fun!! This was the first time shelby actually got to play in the water!! The weather was perfect!! We did get some big waves tho and apparently the were recod breaking all over the california coast!

It was nice to have a nice a relaxing day to swim and visit the beach!! we had an awesome time!!

Wild animal park

So sunday we did the wild animal park. I didnt know too much about this park but it was included in our ticket so we decided to give it a try. Its about 30-40min away from san diego so a little bit of a drive. well we got to the park and boy was it HOT! I guess we werent expecting it because the weather in san diego was soooo nice. We did the tram ride and the tour guide said it was in the triple digits!!! Terrible! The park itself is very nice and kept up however it is A LOT of walking. Heat and lots of walking didnt mix all that great with us!! We stayed at the park till about 100pm then decided to pack it in and head back to the hotel to swim!!! We did get to see some of the animals closer than we did at the zoo which was neat...but we would have to do this park in the fall when it was MUCH cooler if we ever did it again. Also your ticket got you into the park and the tram ride but all the other "excursions" were extra!! And not cheap extra like 70 bucks per person extra!! so needless to say we werent doing those lol...so here are some pics from the wild animal park

this exhibit was my favorite there...you got to be so close to the lions!!! we were literally inches away!! Here the lioness was sleeping and here was the king!! keeping watch!! again we got to be up close and personal which was a neat experience for us and the kids!!

poor shelby gave in and crashed right after lunch! poor thing it was just miserably hot and she slept like such a good girl! She was amazingly wonderfl on the trip...no fits or crying like some other kids we saw. It made me so thankful that i have good kids and especially a good even tempered baby!! The kids were wonderful and it made the vacation that much better!

We had a wonderful vacation and some great experiences!! We are looking forward to next years vacation already!!

Vacation!

So finally we are headed on a fun week-long vacation!! It is very much needed!! We are heading to San Diego to do Sea world, comic-con, the zoo and wildlife park!! The kids are thrilled and so are Jimmy and I! In all the years ive lived in California ive never done the san diego deal....pics to come later :)

I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband who is an awesome father. Jimmy is so great with the girls and they love him sooo much! I know that its important to have a wonderful father figure in your life especially as a little girl and am so thankful that my girls have that. I am lucky to have a wonderful father myself!!! I love you dad for always being there for me and my family and i love you Jimmy for being there for our kids and being an amazing figure in their lives! This year we headed up to lost lake for some BBQ! we had so much fun

Shelby's 1st Birthday

So my baby turned 1!! I cant believe she is that old already...really where does the time go?? She is talking up a storm and working on walking...she's still a little wobbly but she does it on her own! We love her to pieces and enjoy having her in our family!! Happy birthday baby!!!

So Shelby's birthday fell on a sunday this year so we decided to have her party that day on her actual birthday...We did a ladybug party at my parents house and everything turned out so cute!! Here's shelby at home before we headed over to my parents houseWe had the party outside in their backyard which was nice except for the weather lol it turned out to be 106 that day!! We had been having 80 degree weather and a few low 90 days but no that day...106. It broke a record!! Last year 2008 May 17th broke a record too reaching 102 so i guess this girl brings the heat!!!!

We had a "pin the antenna on the ladybug" game for the kids..the little ones got to be unblindfolded and the older ones got the blindfold lol it was so cute!

After the games we had cake...we had gotten shelby her own cake to destroy and she did pretty good!

Shelby is truly loved...she had lots of friends and family there!!!

Then came presents...boy is this kid spoiled!! she got tons of toys and clothes!! Thank you to everyone!!!!

Luckily we did the party early so we beat most of the heat!! A big thank you to all our friends and family that took the time to spend this special day with us...And Shelby we love you!!

Disneyland and My Birthday

This year we decided to do Disneyland for my birthday! We had my mom sister and Jacob (Nikki's boyfriend), and Deana and Belinda go with us!! It was great fun and one of the best birthdays ever!! Seeing Disneyland through your kids is soooo amazing!! We all had a wonderful time and thank you to our families for making this trip the BEST!! Also thanks to Jimmy for finally going to Disneyland with me!! I love you!

We headed straight over to the Finding Nemo ride because we were told that line gets rediculously LONG...

After that we went to "Pixie Hollow" to meet the fairies. Grandma Tubbs had given Lex an autograph book so she could collect autographs from the characters...well we love the tinkerbell movie so this was a must!! This was by far Shelby's favorite ride....Its a Small World. She loved standing in line watching the clock and the dolls...then she LOVED the ride. She oohed and aahed the whole time. She was so busy looking at everything the whole time!!!

Then we went to go see Minnie and Mickey Mouse!! The line for Mickey was soooo long but so worth it for the kids!! Lex got the autographs and we got pics!!

DAY 2- California Adventure

On Sunday we did California Adventure and had a ball there too!! We went to the "Bugs Life" area and did all those rides. The kids loved it!

On the ladybug ride they wouldnt let Shelby sit on my lap like all the others so she had to sit on the seat like a big girl....she wasnt too sure about that! She sure clung to me and Jimmy during that ride and we couldn't stop laughing!

After lunch we went to the "Play house Disney" show. We knew Shelby would love that because she watches those shows at home! She loved it! They did all her favorites: Mickey mouse clubhouse, handy manny, tigger and pooh and little einsteins!! What fun! Me and Lex riding the toy story ride! That ride was so fun!! You got to shoot the targets!!

That night we ate a wayyy late dinner at this mexican restraunt in Downtown disney Yum Yum!! it was great food and they had a guy there that made pretty much anything you could think of out of balloons! Lexi got ariel. of course!

All in all we had a crazy busy fun weekend and I had the best birthday!!! I love my family and was so glad i got to spend it with them!! We did miss my dad whon was out of town for work!! But, we'll be going on vacation with him in July!!! San Diego Zoo and Sea world here we come!!
